Qualifying with Chronic Pain

The New York State Department of Health announced that chronic pain is now a qualifying condition for medical marijuana. To qualify under chronic pain, patients should meet the following conditions.

 

  1. Patient has severe debilitating pain that degrades health and daily functioning.
  2. Patient has a condition that has intolerable side effects that have lasted, or will last, 3 months or more.
  3. The patient and the doctor feel therapy has failed to treat, or cannot be used because the therapy would be harmful.
